Middle-East Area (Masovia and Podlasie)
Masovia and Kampinoska Forest are located almost in the very centre of Poland. Thanks to much resonance to Fryderyk Chopin’s birth place and music itself, Masovia has become a national symbol. Once there, you should definitely visit the Łowicz town cathedral and museum, the Arkadia Park nearby – the land of “happiness and peace” – one of the most beautiful Polish parks established in 1778 by Princess Helena Radziwiłłowa, but also Nieborów with its XVII century palace that used to belong to the Radziwiłł Family. Finally, there’s the manor house in Żelazowa Wola – the birthplace of F. Chopin.Łódź is an important point in Masovia map, it’s a city connecting continuously renovated industrial space with bold architectural projects. It once was a vivid metropolis fill with multiculturalism and courageous industrial thought. It is here, you can find post manufactory complexes of Poznańscy and Scheiblers Families, with an amazing neo-baroque palace of Izrael Poznański called “The Louvre of Łódź”.
Most importantly however, Masovia is a region with the Polish capital city –Warszawa, “the nicest of cities” as an old song says, it’s a place of constant happenings, very active where life never stops. Warszawa is too full of historical sites, mind you most of them were meticulously recreated and restored after the WWII’s tragic destructions. Places to see include: numerous palaces, museums, art galleries, cinemas and theatres. You cannot miss Warszawa’s colourful Old Town with the Royal castle, adorable buildings in Łazienki Park, the royal residence in Wilanów, The Palace of Culture and Science and Marszałkowska residential district –MDM and the Royal Route – Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat Streets.
